In 2024 we launched, what we think is the first ever, 3Rs Innovation Challenge. We brought 15 3Rs researchers and experts together for a day of innovation and problem-solving in 3Rs related science. Advancing the 3Rs might seem unclear in our day to day life in the lab or office, but when we step back, collaborate and seek guidance, there are likely aspects that we could improve.

During this one-day on-site workshop, participants are assignned into interdisciplinary groups, mixing laboratory research and social sciences perspectives, with the goal of a 3Rs advancement project together. Groups are guided in processes of ideation, collaborative problem solving and project creation inspired by your own research. Each group will have the opportunity to pitch their idea for a 3Rs solution and feedback is given by the mentors. As well as developing various soft skills, you will deepen your understanding of what the 3Rs mean in your own field and within the group and gain clearer insights into how 3Rs solutions can be implemented.
