Call for Papers for FrontiersIn research topic on 3Rs progress
With the support of all 3Rs centres across Europe, this new Frontiers research topic, launched on December 17th, 2021, aims to provide an inter- and multi-disciplinary view of the current state of research in 3Rs. To broadly portray the current advances and challenges, as well as the future opportunities, requires the coordinated effort of multiple scientific disciplines including biomedical, veterinary, biostatistical, biotechnology, computer sciences, as well as perspectives from educational, social, political and ethical research in the 3Rs field. The goal of the topic is to address key questions on the 3Rs advancement and implementation, including (but not restricted to) reviewing the current state of the art, the validation of replacement approaches for human disease models, reductions in cancer and neurosciences and animal welfare and refinement methods, education and ethics. By valuing the 3R principle’s importance in producing better and more reliable research beyond the 3Rs, the centres will be able to more effectively promote and disseminate the 3R principle. Near 50 contributions are expected, with already half of them being confirmed. Abstracts may be submitted until May 29th, 2022. The deadline for manuscript submission is November 29th, 2022. Information on the full scope, and the submission links can be found in the following page:
